The van Hasselt, named after former Headmaster Marc van Hasselt, will house a suite of humanities classrooms, a dedicated English resource library and careers offices.
A large glass-roofed space will also be included, providing a social space and an area for learning seminars.
The new van Hasselt Centre is located at the Senior School, in the old squash courts. The opening of the van Hasselt Centre will allow existing classrooms in the Connaught Block to be converted back to their original use as boarding accommodation from January 2019 in order to create the fourth girls’ house, to be named Martlet (after the birds on the School’s shield).

"Having the doors pre-hung with locksets pre-cut saved on site installation time. The prehanging/cutting was obviously carried out very precisely as no issues arose during the installation. The doors and frames were also delivered prefinished, which again saved time on site and provided the client with a high-quality product to a factory finish which would have been hard to achieve in a site environment.
