CCN Solid Core Fire Doors
CCN timber solid core fire doors are precision-engineered to meet stringent fire safety, and other performance standards, featuring a densely packed core for optimal thermal insulation and fire resistance. Certified to FD30 or FD60 ratings. These doors incorporate intumescent, smoke and environmental seals and robust hardwood lippings, effectively delaying fire and smoke penetration. Ideal for high-performance applications in commercial, residential, and institutional environments requiring certified fire compartmentation.

Construction
Three-layer particleboard cored doors. Available in 35mm FD30, 44mm FD30 and 54mm FD60. This type of core is very robust and manufactured to close tolerances to suit modern joinery processes. This type of core can be cut to size and process, extremely easily, via CCN’s automated processing, to the sheet sizes below and certification parameters.
The density and surface finish mean’s that there is no need for internal perimeter framing or additions of HDF / MDF facings.

Reasons for specifying Graduated Density Core Fire Doors
-
Graduated Density Composition:
The core comprises stratified layers of wood particles with a density gradient—higher-density material positioned near the surface layers and lower-density material centrally. This configuration enhances mechanical fastening properties, provides a stable substrate for high-quality finishes, and improves overall structural integrity. -
Fire Resistance Performance:
GDC (Graduated Density Core) assemblies are engineered to comply with specified fire resistance ratings (e.g., FD30, FD60), effectively delaying heat transfer and flame penetration during exposure to fire conditions for a certified duration. -
Surface Finish Compatibility:
The surface of the GDC core is engineered for optimal adhesion and dimensional stability, accommodating a wide range of finishing systems, including real wood veneers, high-pressure laminates, and specialist fire-rated coatings. -
Key Performance Benefits:
GDC cores offer an efficient balance of cost, fire performance, dimensional stability, and durability, making them suitable for high-traffic commercial, institutional, and residential applications requiring certified fire door solutions.
